Upscale baby…upscale! Look sharp and host a fabulous array of:
-Bagna cauda (olive oil, garlic, butter dipping sauce for raw veggies)
-Smoked trout on crostini (smoked trout can be found in tins near the tuna section, crostini in the bread/cracker section)
    -Marinated olive assortment
-Baked brie cheese w/ sourdough bread slices
-Melon slices with proscuitto ham ( just drape thin slices of the ham over the melon slices)
    -Pitches of Sangria
    -Assorted cheese platter
-A baked dish of Italian sausage, white onions & peppers
Then light up a stogie and smile graciously as you take them for all their money! Have fun!

Avoid anything greasy or with sauce (like BBQ). It will just get all over the cards, chips and table. I would try something with high carbs. That way after hours of grinding away at the table your opponents will drop into a carb coma and will start making bad poker decisions. (grin)

  3. Redrom Says:

    chips and beer

  4. jobug Says:

Pretty much any kind of finger food would do, but you must remember not to get too messy. It’s no fun playing when you have food all over your fingers. Plus, it ruins the cards.

liquor them up then fleece them for all they are worth, lol, actually it depends on the people, the beer and prezles route might work on guys but just serve what you and your girlfriends normally have

  6. So Says:

Beer and chips and chicken wings…don’t forget table clothes for the chicken wings

  7. Chris S Says:

I would suggest something small that doesn’t require a lot of prep. Chips, grapes or other fruit, and something warm to snack on. Also, alcohol is almost always a must.

  8. Father Ashley Says:

    Here’s a fun idea.
Buy three dark green cucumbers and three yellow zuccini (you can find these in good supermarkets). Wash them all thoroughly and cut off the pointed ends.
Use a potato peeler to peel strips of skin, to make vertical lines in the vegetables, lengthwise from top to bottom. Make the lines about half an inch wide and space them equally all the way around (don’t be too anal about this, the effect works without needing to calculate or anything!).
Now, cut them into rounds by slicing across the zuccini and cucumbers. Bingo! You have EDIBLE POKER CHIPS!
Add a cold dip to complete the snack.

I would go with club sandwiches (cut up) wings (with dips) and lil’ smokies.. of course with pretzels, chips and other “pick on” foods.

Finger foods. Chicken wings, potato skins, mini eggrolls, chips, dip, club sandwiches. Places like the Publix Deli or Walmart deli make great party trays of sandwiches. Chili’s makes excellent party trays that are reasonably priced; includes buffalo wings, southwestern eggrolls, fajitas, and more.

try the frozen foods section of the store & get a bunch of snacky foods you can put on a baking tray & heat them all up at once. It w/b hot, you w/have variety, it w/b cheaper than ordering something. Breaded shrimps, potato skins, breaded vegetables like mushroom, onion rings, etc, frozen french fries…chips & dips are good… and of course, beer/soda.

Wings with celery, carrots & ranch dressing
Pigs in blankets. Take hotdog and wrap cressants around it. Serve with mustard.
Meat balls. Add meatballs, 1 jar of grape jelly and 1 jar of BBQ Sauce to a crock pot. Cook for at leas two hours before serving.
Chips and dips are always a hit.
    Layerd taco dip is awesome!!!
    Sausage cheese balls.

Just go with easy finger food. CHicken fingers (buffalo), appetizers, chips salsa, you need something sweet too (cookies etc)

How about double decker sandwhiches or club sandwhiches and chips? (This is going with the card game theme)

  24. Sassy Says:

How about chili? East to make and feeds a crowd. Have some cheese, sour cream, diced onions available for them to put on the top. You could also have a small veggie tray with dip and of course the pretzels etc.
