anyone have any ideas they can share for a charity casino/poker party?

I think everyone is a bit confused about your question because you didn’t give enough detail.
You’re throwing this party at your house? At a casino? What are you raising money for - what charity?
If you’re throwing this party at your house - I’d suggest making it a money game, telling the people what you are doing and charging (at the door) 15.00 to enter a poker tourn. / With that 15.00 - 10 dollars goes into the pot to be divided amongst the winners and 5-dollars is raked and goes to the charity.
If you promote this right and spread the word about your cause - many people will show up, pay the 15.00 and not even enter the poker tourn. - This will add more money to the pot, the real players know this and they’ll show up in droves.
