How Do People Find Out About Good Music Quickly?

I thought the song “Poker Face” was released in January and I was totally shocked when i heard its from september 2008!! I’m always really late on music trends and i hate when I’m at a party and everybody is singing to a song but me, because I dont know it. I want to be the person who knows good songs before they become popular. I need help finding good music…

if you keep up with the newer music… not exactly that it came out today songs… but recent ones… like top 10’s and top 20’s… check out the other songs by those artists… mostly like… if it’s catchy… and i mean… you know several/may people will like the song… it would most likely come out on the radio. also… you can find many songs if you have satellite radio… so many radio stations and they keep playing a lot of the same music… of course… if you get tired of just the 90’s or today’s music… you can always change it to the classical station or metal or folk, contemporary… whatever you like. but most likely you won’t be able to find out about the new music before anyone else… just keep up with today’s radio songs… even though it’s not every single day that a new song comes out… it’s close to it… hope this helps you some

hey
you can find out new music by going to different artists myspace pages where they usually have a few songs from their album playing on their page or if you hav an itunes account you can just go to the itunes store and check out the top 100 and see if there are new artists that have come into the countdown. you can also find out new stuff from ur friends and ask what they’re into atm and ask how they keep up to date with music. i also find that listening to triple J is good, as most artists get played on that radio station before all the other mainstream stations and you can also watch music shows like MTV or video hits =]

If it’s a popular song, then probably exposure through advertising and music videos on tv. If you want to find music that will become popular, well good luck. However, I can recommend some great music.
Sonata Arctica, Steve Vai, Dream Theater, Paul Gilbert, and Galneryus to name a few.
I dunno if that’s your style though.

i dont know if it will help you keep up to date but ill help you find a heep of good music
